Getting Informed for an Informed Choice: A Dialogue on Advance Healthcare Directives (DAT).
The Municipality of Venaus, in collaboration with the FARO Foundation, is organizing an informational evening dedicated to a topic of fundamental civic, ethical, and legal importance: Advance Healthcare Directives (known in Italy as *Disposizioni Anticipate di Trattamento* – DAT).
The meeting will take place on Friday, November 6, at 9:00 PM, at the Multipurpose Hall (*Salone Polivalente*) in Borgata VIII Dicembre, Venaus.
This is a valuable opportunity to explore the content and application of Law no. 219/2017, which governs informed consent and Advance Healthcare Directives, placing the dignity of the individual and respect for their personal wishes at the center.
Guiding this in-depth discussion will be:
- Alessandro Valle – Specialist in Palliative Care, FARO Foundation
- Silvia Ferrarini – General Practitioner
“The right to self-determination and informed medical care is a cornerstone of a community’s legal and moral framework. Addressing the subject of Advance Healthcare Directives means fully exercising one’s freedom as a citizen, balancing responsibility for the future with the inestimable value of human dignity. Providing information and fostering open dialogue are not merely ways to gain knowledge; they are acts of profound civility and respect for life.”
Free admission.
