Did you know that the cult of the wolf has roots in cultures as seemingly distant as those of the Celts, Native Americans, and the Japanese? Or that many of our present-day holidays originated from ancient solstice rituals?
"Le Officine del Sapere" (Workshops of Knowledge) in Rubiana invites you to a special lecture exploring the hidden threads of the symbols that have shaped our culture.
Celtic knowledge was passed down orally until it was finally committed to writing centuries later—by Christian monks in Ireland, as well as by Roman and Greek historians.
Topics covered:
The ancestral myth of the Wolf: a universal archetype found among the Celts, Native American tribes, and within Japanese Shintoism.
The origins of rituals and holidays: including the roots of Halloween, the solstices, May Day (Calendimaggio), and the transition into the month dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Zoomorphic art: how Rome assimilated, transformed, and stylized the imagery of sacred animals.
Great Earth symbols: the profound meaning behind ancient festivals such as Imbolc and Ostara.
When: Thursday, October 29th, at 6:00 PM
Where: "Dino Campana" Library – Rubiana
