At the castle of Adelaide in Susa "Matilda of Canossa and Adelaide of Susa – The Middle Ages of Women" exhibition.
Matilda of Canossa and Adelaide of Susa were two enlightened rulers, protagonists of key events that marked the politics and society of their time. The exhibition explores their historical bond and the role they both had in the delicate period that preceded the meeting of Canossa between Emperor Henry IV and Pope Gregory VII in 1077. Thanks to the materials from the Grasselli Collection, visitors will be able to admire a rich selection of historical artefacts, documents and works of art that testify to the legacy left by these two extraordinary female figures.
Opening hours: on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 02:00 pm-06:00 pm; extraordinary open on Monday, June 2 02:00 pm-06:00 pm.
