On Saturday, April 12 at 04:00 pm at the council hall "MADAME BOVARY and BEL AMI - Love and History in 19th Century France" with Marinella Bertolo and Giusy Masciangelo.
"Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert and "Bel-Ami" by Guy de Maupassant explore the life and ambitions of the 19th-century French bourgeoisie, highlighting the frustrations and illusions of their protagonists. Emma Bovary and Georges Duroy are both in search of a better life and personal satisfaction, but they find themselves having to face the consequences of their choices.
Both novels offer social criticism, highlighting the hypocrisy and limitations of the society of the time.
