Special Conservation Area of ​​Monte Musinè and Caselette Lakes

The site extends over an area of 1524 hectares across the municipalities of Almese, Caselette, San Gillio, Val della Torre, and encompasses the entire Monte Musinè, the lakes of Caselette, and Lago Borgarino.

The coexistence of different environments, the variability of altitude, the presence of wetlands, and xerothermic areas (Musinè) characterized by Mediterranean species, guarantee the existence of significant biodiversity, as clearly demonstrated by the presence of a substantial number of animal and plant species rare at the regional and national level.
