Novalesa Abbey was founded in 726 and was one of the beacons of culture in the Carolingian period. The chapel of St. Eldrado has a beautiful Romanesque fresco cycle, dating back to 1095/96. Since 2009, the complex also houses an Archaeological Museum.

We wanted to do a beautiful thing
In July 1973 the Benedictine monks returned, after years of forced abandonment, to the Novalesa Abbey, purchased the year before by the Province of Turin. The video traces the history of these last 40 years of Novalesa's millennial life.
