Piazza Martiri della Libertà 2, 10050 Bruzolo
Indicated as Brosoliae in Abbone's will in 739 between the lands donated to the Novalesa Abbey and those donated to the San Giusto Abbey, the fiefdom with castle became the residence of the Bertrandi family enfeoffed in 1227 for the control of the territory between San Giorio, Chianocco and Villar Focchiardo. The castle, modified and expanded over the centuries, also serving as a residence for feudal families, is made up of four corner towers and a central tower, where the residential residence is enclosed by crenellated walls, while a second order of walls also constitutes the shelter if difficult to read today. In the 16th century, under the Grosso di Carignano family, the castle took on the appearance of a noble residence which very often hosted the Savoy court on the occasion of hunting trips. It is no coincidence that this residence was chosen to conclude the Treaties of Bruzolo on 25 April 1610 between Ledisguiéres, delegate of the King of France Henry IV, and the Duke of Savoy Charles Emmanuel I: the Treaty Room is as portrayed in period paintings .
The castle is privately owned and visits are permitted, by appointment, to particularly interested people.
The urban settlement is gathered around the parish church of San Giovanni Evangelista, built in the 11th century. but rebuilt in the 18th century: inside there is a canvas attributed to the Turin Michele Antonio Milocco (ca. 1727).
