Chapel of San Giuseppe

Chiusa San Michele

Recent archaeological excavations have brought to light, embedded within the most recent chapel, four rectilinear walls connected with a same number of curvilinear structures that can be traced back to a small fortress with four towers. The structure allegedly was part of the famous fortified system of “Clusae” built in the fourth–fifth Century and later used by the Lombards in the eighth century.
