On Saturday, August 1st, at 9:00 PM, the hamlet of Melezet will host a journey through time and tradition with the event entitled "THE MULBERRY TREE – A Plant of the Piedmontese Rural Landscape Between History and Future."
The event, curated by Marco Allasia's Terre della Seta (Racconigi), aims to tell the story of a symbolic plant of the area, capable of uniting the memory of the past with the future prospects of our agriculture and culture. The evening will be one of the many stops on the "Dran k'lä sië tro tar" (Drowning in the Wind) journey, fragments of memory dedicated to the stories of Bardonecchia, uniting the great Piedmontese rural history with the specificities of local tradition.
"Terre della Seta" was founded in 2016 with the aim of rediscovering and promoting mulberry cultivation in the Racconigi area. This initiative exploits and promotes the multifunctionality of the mulberry tree, cultivated not only for its fruit but also for its leaves, wood, and roots, including by-products derived from its main crops. This initiative aims to achieve a model of circular agriculture, particularly mulberry cultivation.

Entrance: Free admission, subject to availability.
The initiative is the result of the collaboration of important local organizations, including the Municipality of Bardonecchia, Assomont, Terre della Seta, the Metropolitan City of Turin, the Turin and Province Tourism Board, and numerous local supporters.
A little tip: Since this is a free event, subject to availability, we recommend arriving a little early to secure a spot.
