Friday, March 6, at 9:00 pm in Mattie, Salone Multivalente, Via Roma 2, The Song of the Forest. A true story of women, forests, and courage, brought to life through the narration with Irene Borgna.
Introduction by Bruno Usseglio.
A delicate tale of a story set in the Chisone Valley at the end of the 19th century, when the inhabitants of a small hamlet—especially the women—manage to stop the felling of the centuries-old larch forest that protects the village. "The Song of the Forest" is a theatrical reading written and performed by Irene Borgna. Twenty-six original watercolors by Silvia Benetollo give shape and color to the story, using the traditional Japanese technique of Kamishibai, or "paper theater."
Created, written, and performed by Irene Borgna.
