On Thursday, October 1st, at 6:00 PM, the "Dino Campana" Library in Rubiana will host a lecture by Alberto Borgatta titled "TAUROS: Anthropology of Fantastic Creatures." From the Golem to Artificial Intelligence—taking in zombies, Frankenstein, and automata along the way—we will explore how much of ourselves exists within the creatures we create.
We will delve into a constant and immensely powerful presence in ancient mythologies—spanning the Mediterranean, Egypt, and the Near East, but also found closer to home, right at the foot of the Mole: the bull.
It is a fascinating journey through myth, literature, and science, revealing that these figures are not merely monsters, but true mirrors in which humanity reflects its own hopes, ethical boundaries, and the fear of being surpassed by its own inventions.
And what if we were to discover that "our Golems" have learned to speak to us?
